I've never heard of Dave Aude or Dan Chase, but now I know them! I'm absolutely loving the Dave Aude Club. I think I like it better than Ralphi's Club. So happy there are two mixer that remixed this song without the vocal vocoder. Love it, love it, love it. I dislike Donna is put in a dance music box and that radio seemingly doesn't seem to play her, but thank God for her fans and the clubs. This song is one catchy, informative track. Donna Summer is rapping. Who would have thought? You'll always be Queen in my book. Love the break in Aude's mix, "Everybody wanna be a star...." Dan Chase brings a new kind of feel to the track. He mixes it up like a tossed salad and it kind of has an old school feel to it in parts. Good job. (J.K., 11/20/2008 see all my reviews >> )
Fabu!! Donna Summer is the true Queen of Dance Music. She has not forgotton her core base!! Love the song and these mixes. Would have also loved to have a more rock/electro version, but all in all worth the dollars. Thanks PerfectBeat!! (F.B., 11/20/2008 see all my reviews >> )
First off, JK, what rock have you been living under that you haven't heard of Dave Aude. Aside from Peter Rauhofer, he's one of the few remixers who name is on EVERYTHING for the last few years since Thunderpuss split up. Have you not heard of his band, the Pussycat Dolls? Or his #1 remixes of Beyonce, Destiny's Child, Madonna, Pink, Suzanne Palmer, Enrique Iglesias just to name a few. - - - Anyway, this is a fantastic follow-up. And I agree, the best mixes could have been all put on one disc. But, and I can't think how many times I've had to explain this on here, you all seem to forget, the entire world is not the US. CD singles in most European countries have time limits. Anything over a 26 minutes is automatically an album and has to be charged as so. Government regulations. So remixes have to be spread out over two discs. It's only been this way for . . . TEN YEARS! Please pass it on so I don't have to keep repeating myself. (M.C., 12/9/2008 see all my reviews >> )
I agree with CM, why the 2 discs? I like the song but Dave Aude and Ralphi should be on the same disc? Anyway, the Dave Aude is my pick. (D.B., 11/21/2008 see all my reviews >> )
I just read that this song may get a remix and become available on Perfect Beat from a very reliable Donna site, and BAM! the next week, you all come through as mention. What a great treat during hard economic times. Gas has gone done, and we all deserve these TWO Donna CD's!! I really like what I hear in snibbets, and will have a great tool to help me dance off that turkey next week. Thanks PB for yet another Donna Summer hook up! While I'm glad that physical pressings of this have been made, what's up with the record company soaking the consumer twice? Dump the unnecessary dubs and instrumental tracks, heck, dump even the radio mixes since they don't play well in clubs, and make ONE disc of the extended mixes. A CD, as well all know, can handle 80 minutes of music. How about saving us some money and releasing a single, comprehensive version? (C.M., 11/20/2008 see all my reviews >> )
